It was an all-northern weekend for the Nipissing Lakers basketball team, as they hosted the Laurentian Voyageurs Friday night on home court before travelling to Sault Ste. Marie Sunday afternoon for a make-up game against the Algoma Thunderbirds.
Both the women’s and men’s teams were able to keep both games close, but came out on the wrong side when it was all said and done.
On Friday the men were edged 74-64 by the Vees.
The men fell 72-59 to the Thunderbirds dropping their record to 0-12 in their inaugural season in the OUA.
They will now look ahead to their lone game next weekend, when they head to Sudbury to face the Voyageurs in a rematch of this past Friday’s game.
