Voodoos doubled by T-Birds

SAULT STE. MARIE, ON - The Soo Thunderbirds scored 4 unanswered goals to defeat the visiting Powassan Voodoos 6-3 at the Essar Centre on Friday night. 

Caleb Boman led the T-Birds attack with a late second period tally and another at 1:57 of the third period to secure the win for the home side.  

Steve Harland, Kyle Moore and Jake Staples scored for the Voodoos in the loss as they fall to 11-18-0-7 on the season.  Harland, the Voodoos leading scorer, also added an assist in the loss. 

Matt Young suffered the loss in goal for the Voodoos as he turned away 39 shots. 

The Voodoos continue a very busy weekend as they travel to Blind River to take on the winless Beavers at 7:30 Saturday night at the Blind River Community Centre. 

The three-game Western road swing concludes Sunday night when the Voodoos travel to Elliot Lake to take on the Wildcats.

The short-staffed Voodoos were without Battalion draft pick David Sherman, along with captain Aaron Sullivan and North Bay forward Aaron Dart as all suffered injuries in Wednesday's 5-4 OT loss to the Sudbury Nickel Barons.
