The Bantam AA Ice Boltz gave Tom Hedican's Coach4Food Program another major boost, adding 9,078 pounds to this year's fundraiser for the North Bay Food Bank.

KPMG Foundation also made a donation of $1000 and along with donations from Bill Demarco, The Hamton Inn, Guido Verrillo, Carol and John Rowe, Account On Fullerton, OCP Construction Supplies, Elizabeth and Theresa Fava, Helen Antebi Consulting, Don and Diane Wallace, Denyse and Terry Vendetti, employees of ONTERA all combined to add another 6,175 pounds to this year's drive.

That pushed this year's total to 63,805 pounds with just three days remaining.

This year the top collecting girl's and boy's teams will be honored before a North Bay Battalion home game and have a practice run by the team's coaching staff. The third place finisher - boys or girls - will also get a practice with Battalion coaches.

Hedican, a professional goaltending consultant, is running practices using NHL and European skill drills for teams that do food drives for area food banks. Coach4Food, inspired by rock star Bruce Springsteen's work with food banks in Canada, the U.S, and around the world, will wrap up December 21st.
