North Bay CT33 Swimmers decided to forgo the annual seasonal gift exchange again this year and opted to give to the community. Over 25 gifts were delivered to the Nipissing Transition House after the annual Christmas gathering held on December 6th at CFB North Bay.
The gifts are destined for boys and girls of similar age to the swimmers themselves.
The 11 and under CT-33 Thunderbirds swim team competed at the OMNI Top Fish meet in Sudbury on Sunday December 7th, 2014. This short course event was hosted by the Nickel City Aquatics Swim Club at Gatchell Pool in Sudbury, Ontario, and provides an encouraging environment for new and upcoming young competitors with random bell ringer prizes for the swimmers.
Trael Daly Stevens, Myles Denomme, Lindsay Greig, Annika Lainevool, Rachelle Ouellette, Jaiden Paralovos, Peyton Paralovos, Regan Passmore, Drew Sinclair, and Olivia Trottier all had a top 3 finish, while Samuel Denomme, Emilia Lainevool, and Noah Papatheodorou pulled a top eight ribbon, and Ryleigh Paralovos came back from the meet with personal best times.
Thunderbird swimmers Drew Sinclair, and Ryan Venditti stood proudly on the podium this past weekend at the Ontario Division 3 Team Championships held in Windsor. Sinclair brought home a silver in the 10 and under, 50 Meter Breastroke event, while Venditti moved up from his third place preliminary swim to capture silver in the finals of the Mens 13-14 year old 100 Meter Breastroke.
Jane Chirico, Trael Daly Stevens, Lindsay Greig, Jesse Hammond, and Jaiden Paralovos all pulled at least one top eight finish in their individual finals, while Cauri Ash, Rhianna Bovair, Jasmine Busschaert, Leah Chirico, Clarice DeBernardi, Michael Denomme, Samuel Denomme, Annika Lainevool, Emilia Lainevool, Kylie Manning, Rachelle Ouellette, Noah Papatheodorou, Cole Paralovos, Peyton Paralovos, Hailey Passmore, Riley Periard, Jillian Picco, Madeline Tanner, and Olivia Trottier came back from the meet with personal best times in their individual events.Coaches Pierre Simard, Penny Lecour, Ray Picco, Monica Hotson, and Hillar Lainevool were pleased with the results and the success and growth of all swimmers.
