Two Local Youth Bowlers Qualify for Provincials

Thirteen Local Youth Bowlers from Partners Bowling in North Bay competed in the 2nd step of the 4 Steps to Stardom Tournament Singles Division in Haileybury on Sunday, December 14, 2014.

This is a major tournament in the YBC - it’s a tournament which goes through four steps leading up to the Canadian National Championships.

The 4 steps are House Round, Zone Finals, Provincial Finals and finally National Finals.

The bowlers from North Bay competed in 5 possible Singles categories.

Laura-Anne Seaton won gold for a second straight year in the Senior Girls Division, while Marc Lecuyer won silver in the Senior Boys event.  

In Junior Boys, Dylan Grant, who won provincial gold last year, won gold in the zone round.  Teammate Noah Starcevic walked away with a silver medal.

Devyn Tremblay won bronze in the Bantam Boys division while Taylor Couvrette won bronze in the Junior Girls division.  

Laura-Anne and Dylan will represent the Gateway zone at the Provincials being held in Sudbury in March 2015.

Meanwhile, four bowlers from West Nipissing, took two golds and two silvers. One gold in the senior boys division, one gold and one silver in the bantam boys and a silver in the bantam girls division.

Patrick Perrin took the gold for the senior boys division. Connor Williams took the gold for the bantam boys and Devin Boucher took silver for the bantam boys. Madison Paquette took silver for the Bantam girls.
