Tyler Desmarais scored the game winner to allow the West Ferris Legion 23 Atom A Trappers to beat South Porcupine in the Atom Division final of the East Ferris Minor Hockey Association's Clarion Early Bird Minor Hockey Tournament held at the Astorville arena over the weekend.
The Trappers got to the final in dramatic fashion by defeating the Kirkland Lake Blue Devils in double overtime in the semifinal.
Team members include goaltenders Nicolas Cote and Ben Rivet along with players Gordie Roynon, Spencer Boulet, Tyler Desmarais, Sebastien Perrault, Lucas Mitchell, Calder Ruddy, Cameron Patterson, Carter Patterson, Keane Koivisto, Sam Mitchell, Liam Blake, Preston Scott, Noah Desrosiers, and Levron Sutherland. The team is coached by Terry Desmarais, Stephen Kovisto, Stephen Mitchell, Mike Mitchell and the team is managed by Yanik Perrault.
