Ice Boltz golden in Barrie

The North Bay Bantam B ICE BOLTZ took part in the 23rd annual Barrie Sharkfest tournament on the November 15th and 16th weekend.

The North Bay Bantam B ICE BOLTZ took part in the 23rd annual Barrie Sharkfest tournament  on the November 15th and 16th weekend.

Playing up in the Bantam BB division the BOLTZ played the host Barrie Sharks in the opening game, losing 1-0 in a very good back and forth hockey game.

In Game 2 against the Hamilton Hawks the ICE BOLTZ came out strong and never let up, winning 2-1. Game 3 was a very good match up against the Temiscaming Shores Puckhounds.

The BOLTZ went up 2-0 early in the first only to be trailing 4-2 after 2 periods. Knowing a loss would eliminate them from moving on the girls came out hard in the 3rd and tied the score 4-4 with 5 minutes left.

The game ended in a 4-4 tie and the BOLTZ still had a chance to move on.

Needing to win game 4, by 2 goals the ICE  BOLTZ came out with a determined team effort and beat the Guelph Gryphons 3-1.

Off to the championship game and a rematch against the Hamilton Hawks. The ICE BOLTZ came out flying and scored 4 quick goals in the first 7 minutes of the game.

The girls never let up in what was maybe their best game of the season winning the Gold with the final score 5-1.
