The North Bay & District Midget AAA Trappers split a pair of games this past weekend in Timmins & Kapuskasing.
Saturday night , the Trappers played catch up all night in a game that saw the home team Majors win 6 – 4.

Tied 2 -2 after 1, the Majors came on strong in the second with 2 more, taking advantage of the PP & a strong work ethic.

Penalty troubles turned to the Majors early in the 3rd, which allowed the Trappers to tie it up late, only to give the game away 20 seconds later.

The Trappers pulled goalie Brendan Dale for the extra attacker, the Majors made the final 6–4

"It was a game where you had to stay out of the penalty box, we fought hard to tie it up, make a mistake in our end, they take the lead," said Trappers Head Coach Mike Reise.

"Our guys didn’t give up , that’s what’s so hard about that one 20 second shift. They have been working so hard to not take any shifts off & to play solid in our own end."

Jack Drinkwalter , Dawson Meecham, Eric Allair & Robbie Ranger scored for the Trappers , Brendan Dale took the loss.
Wayne Mathieu led the Majors with 2 goals.  Alexandre Brisson, Jace Soroko, Greg Willett and Dillan Bruce scored the other goals for the Majors .

On Sunday, the Trappers visited the Kapuskasing Agrium Flyers .

The Trappers got off to an early start as Joe Whittet scored for the visitors  just over 2 minutes in.

The Trappers played a pretty solid game and kept the lead through the second with goals from Devyn Martel & Charlie Iserhoff.

The Flyers came back with two of their own from Derek Goulet and Chad Roberts, but that is as close as they would come.

Jack Drinkwalter and Conor Eastaugh put the game out of reach for the 5–2 win.

Colton Point got the win between the pipes.

Next up for the Trappers, the Timmins Majors are in town for a pair of games. Saturday, 7:20 p.m. and Sunday 1:20 p.m. , both at West Ferris arena.

The Trappers are accepting non-perishable food donations at the door all weekend for the Coach 4 Food program.
