The Powassan Voodoos and Cochrance Crunch swapped forwards on Wednesday.

The Voodoos moved 18-year-old forward Stavros Soilis in exchange for 19-year-old forward Jacob Erwin.

Soilis contributed with 2 goals and 9 assists for 11 points in 17 games this season with the Voodoos.  Erwin contributed 5 goals and 4 assists totalling 9 points in 21 games with the Crunch in 2014-15.

Voodoos GM and VP of Hockey Operations Chris Dawson, says the move brings more experience to the Voodoos young roster.

"Junior 'A' hockey teams are primarily filled with 19 and 20 year olds," said Dawson about a Voodoos team that his the youngest in the NOJHL.

"Of the 23 players on our roster, Jacob Erwin becomes the 5th player to be 19 or 20 years of age.  We are hoping his experience along with the energy he brings to the ice will make us a better hockey team."

Erwin, who will join the Voodoos for practice Thursday, is excited to have a fresh start with the Voodoos.

"It will be exciting to play for a new coaching staff and to play with new guys," said Erwin.

"I look forward to playing for the town of Powassan as a member of the Voodoos. I would consider myself an energy player. I like to pump the team up with a big play or a shot block. I also like to be a playmaker and set up plays."

It's the second deal this season betwen the two teams.  Back in October, the Voodos send goalie Ben Auger to Cochrane in exchange for goaltender Matt Young and defenceman James Vuillemot.

Erwin and the Voodoos will play a pair of home games this weekend.  On Friday night they host the Blind River Beavers (7:30 p.m. at Powassan Sportsplex) and Saturday night they face the East Division leading Kirkland Lake Gold Miners (7:30 p.m. start).
