Here's a round-up of a busy weekend for the teams in the North Bay & District Trappers Hockey Association:

Minor Peewee

The Moore Propane Minor Peewee Trappers were in Sudbury last weekend. Their first game was a tie 2-2 that saw a back and forth game with solid goaltending.

Unfortunately game two the Wolves came out flying and the game was a disappointing lopsided 7 2 loss.

Game three the Trappers came out ready to play and took a early 1 goal lead but ran into some excellent goaltending from the Wolves and quickly found them selves down 5-1 with a never say quit attitude the Trappers fought back to make it a 5 4 final.

Trappers are in the Soo this weekend for 3 games.

Major Peewee

The Savignac North Bay Trappers Peewee AAA team had a disappointing finish while attending the Big Nickel AAA Tournament in Sudbury 2 weekends ago.

They opened the weekend with a 5-1 win vs Rouyn Noranda.  Scoring by Ethan Masson, Jesse Kirkby, Jack Stockfish, Cam Lemcke and Pacey Schlueting. Later that day, the team lost 3-2 to the Thunder Bay Kings.  The Trappers got off to a very slow start and were down 3-0 in the opening frame, before finding their legs and battling back.

Next was an incredible action packed game versus the eventual tournament winners - the Eastern Ontario Wild, who at the time, were ranked #4 in Ontario.  The game went to overtime, with the Wild scoring just at the tail end of an overtime 4 on 3 power play.

The final round robin game opponent was the Ottawa Valley Titans.

The team needed a win to advance to the playoffs, and came away with a convincing 5 to 1 win. Ethan Masson led the offence with 2 goals, with singles going to Kirkby, Stockfish and Nat Lalonde.

In the semi-finals, the Trappers met their arch rival the Nickel City AAA Sons. It is always an emotional affair when these 2 teams play, and this game was no exception.  The North Bay team lost 6-5, in a game that featured many lead changes.  Masson scored another 2 goals.  Joe Jordan, Nat Lalonde and JackStockfish added singles for the Majore Peewee AAA Trappers.

A couple of Trapper players walked away with Tournament awards.  Eric Lafontaine on defense and forward Jack Stockfish were named to the Big Nickel Tournament All Star Team, as well Stockfish was named the Top Scorer of the Tournament.

Cole Goode continued his much improved play and had a terrific weekend. Ethan Masson was another Trapper player that had a very strong weekend, with excellent play in both ends of the rink.

Last weekend the Trappers faced off against the Sudbury Wolves in a pair of home games.  The first game the Trappers came out very strong, and led 6-0 after the first period.

The game finished 7-1, with Pacey Schlueting, Nat Lalonde and Ethan Masson scoring 2 a piece, and Joe Jordan with 1.

The second game saw the Trappers in the penalty box the majority of thefirst 2 periods, and finishing strong with a 5 to 2 win.   Scoring was done courtesy of Eric Lafontaine, Jesse Kirkby, Steph Philion, Ethan Martineau and Jack Stockfish.

Next up for the Trappers is a home game Wednesday 7:00 p.m. at Pete Palangio vs the Wolves, and then attending the Hamilton Bulldogs Reebok Classic tournament in early December.
