The Assante/Auntie Jane's Too Peewee A Ice Boltz captured the gole medal at the Barrie Sharkfest Tournament on the weekend.
The Ice Boltz started the weekend off defeating the 5th ranked team in Ontario, the North Halton Twisters, by a score of 2-0.
In game 2 the Ice Boltz faced the provinces 7th ranked team, the Saugeen Maitland Lightning. In that contest the locals fell 4-3.
Third game. the Ice Boltz came out with a strong effort out shooting the home team Barrrie Sharks 38-3 earning a convincing 5-0 win.
Finishing in 3rd place in round robin put the Ice Boltz in a semi final match against the only team that defeated the Boltz throughout the tournament. In a low scoring game the Boltz came away with a 1-0 win in an 11 player shootout.
The Ice Boltz faced the undefeated Brantford Ice Cats in the gold medal game.
The girls saved their best effort for the finals winning 5-0 coming home with gold.
