KIRKLAND LAKE, ON - Connor Thei scored 3 times to lead the Kirkland Lake Gold Miners to a convincing 8-1 win over the Powassan Voodoos on Halloween night at the Joe Mavrinac Community Centre.
Tristan Hazlett also contributed 2 goals for the winners.
Nolan Smith got the Voodoos lone goal in the second period.
Battalion prospect Jack Ondrovic took the loss allowing 5 goals through 2 periods of play.
He was replaced by Matt Young who allowed 3 more Gold Miners tallies in the final frame.
The Gold Miners improve their record to 14-3 on the night while the Voodoos fall to 3-10-0-3.
The Voodoos are back in action Monday night at 7:00 p.m. when they host the Cochrane Crunch.
