North Bay's Michael Silveri will be making his Ontario Hockey League debut on Friday night as the Sudbury Wolves face the Sarnia Sting.

Silveri, a 2013 6th round pick of the Wolves, is currently playing with the Powassan Voodoos of the NOJHL.

"We are excited and supportive of the move Michael has made to play in the Ontario Hockey League.  It's a dream of his that is coming to a reality.   We have worked closely with the Wolves to make this happen and we certainly wish him the best," said Voodoos GM and VP of Hockey Operations Chris Dawson.

The 6'3, 200 pound forwardi is expected to add a physical presence to the Wolves’ lineup.

So far this season, Silveri has recorded 8 points in 11 games with the Jr. A Voodoos.

Last season,  Silveri finished in second-place in team scoring with the North Bay Midget AAA Trappers where he accumulated 45 points in 30 league games in the Great North Midget League.

Silveri along with call-up Dylan Callaghan will be replacing injured forwards Jacob Harris and Brady Pataki. Wolves’ 1st round selection Michael Pezzetta will also be out of the line-up as he is preparing to play for Team Canada in the U17 World Challenge Cup tournament in Sarnia, Ontario.

The Wolves will host Jakob Chychrun and the Sarnia Sting on Friday night before travelling to Niagara for a tilt with the IceDogs on Saturday. The Wolves will wrap-up their 3-in-3 weekend with a game in London against the Knights on Sunday.

Silveri is expected to play in all three weekend contests for the Wolves.  Silveri will join Danny Descrochers, another Wolves' North Bay Midget AAA graduate.

The Voodoos, who are an affiliate with the Ontario Hockey League's North Bay Battalion, have also seen Kyle Moore make his OHL debut for the Troops on October 23rd at Memorial Gardens.
