Battalion try to run with the Bulls Thursday night

The North Bay Battalion will battle the 9-3-0 Belleville Bulls at Memorial Gardens on Thursday night. The Bulls sit in second spot in the East Division and are led offensively by a pair of former London Knights.

Remi Elie leds the Bulls charge with 18 points.  He's accompanied by former Knights teammate Brett Welychka, who came over in a trade recently. 

Jordan Subban is second in the OHL in scoring for blueliners as he has 6 goals and 9 assists.    

“They’re off to a good start,” said coach Stan Butler to www.battalionhockey.com  

“They’re a well disciplined, well coached team that plays all 200 feet. They have a pretty good group of players, and the start of their season is indicative of that.”

The Battalion will be without 1st round pick Zach Poirier and Assistant coach Ryan Oulahen.  Both are in Sarnia with Team Canada Red which is particpiating in teh World Under-17 Hockey Challenge.   The week-long tournament officially face's off on Sunday and wraps up November 8th.  

Nick Paul continues to lead the Battalion in scoring.  He sits 5th in league goal scoring with 10 tallies in 11 games so far this season. 

Goodrow's Debut

A pair of San Jose media outlets are reporting that former Battalion captain Barclay Goodrow may make his NHL debut  Thursday night when the Sharks visit the Minnesota Wild.  

Goodrow had a great training camp but has been hampered with an injury he sustained late in exhibition play when he blocked a shot.
