Athletes from the North Bay Badminton Team, Widdifield badminton and Odyssée badminton participated in the Sudbury Junior Badminton Tournament this past Friday and Saturday.
The tournament is the first of a series of four Northern Ontario Badminton Association (NOBA) tournaments, with the championship culminating the season in North Bay in February.
The tournament drew over 120 athletes from Bracebridge, Sudbury, Timmins, Elliott Lake and New Liskeard competing in U16 and U19 singles, doubles and mixed doubles. North Bay took home many honours in this first tournament.

Coach for the North Bay Badminton team, Kurt Tempelmans Plat was very proud with the weekend's accomplishments. "This was by far our best tournament, since starting the North Bay Badminton team last fall. Most of our players finished in A or B division, and the athletes proved that they are determined to continue being competitive. I am very impressed by our team's attitude on and off the court, and I am happy to see North Bay badminton growing as a whole."
