Successful Road Trip for Battalion

Despite playing their third game in three nights, the North Bay Battalion stole the show in Barrie, as they downed the Colts 4-3.

Despite playing their third game in three nights, the North Bay Battalion stole the show in Barrie, as they downed the Colts 4-3. The Troops are now tied for first place in the Central Division with 15 points and also have two games in hand over Barrie.

Ray Huether and David Sherman each scored key goals in the third period as the Barrie Colts cut the lead the one with 1:25 left in the game.

Evan Cormier made 18 saves and grabbed his first win of the season. Jake Smith was given the night off after playing two straight games, including a convincing 6-2 win over Niagara on Friday night.

Zach Bratina scored the opening goal as he intercepted a bad clearing attempt by Barrie and was left all alone in front of the net. The Colts showed signs of life late in the period and would eventually tie the game.

Second period was all Battalion as they outshot the Colts 9-2.

Nick Paul gave North Bay the lead back midway through the period scoring his team leading 10th goal of the season.

Jeff Blandisi, Cordell James and C.J. Garcia scored for the Colts.

The Battalion next game is October 30th at home versus the Belleville Bulls.
