NDA Jr. Football - Classic Bears and Trojans matchup

The Junior Trojan football team won a thriller 20-14 against the Scollard Hall Bears on Thursday. It was the second regular season meeting between the two, the Trojan's having won the first meeting 40-28 earlier this season.

The Trojans opened the scoring in the first quarter on a two yard plunge into the end zone by Reece Brown. With the Bears blocking the extra point conversion, the score was 6-0 Trojans.   

The Bears threatened in the second quarter, but Tyler Karpenko intercepted a pass from Joe Whittet in the end zone.

The score at half was 6-0 Trojans. Early in the second half the Trojans' Johnny Warren scored on a deep pass from Mason McGriskin. Cam Walters added a two conversion to give the Trojans a 14-0 lead.

The Bears battled back with a deep pass of their own from Joe Whittet to Owen MacIntosh.  Matteo Pavone added the single as the Bears cut into the Trojans lead to make it 14-7.

The Trojans scored their last touchdown in the fourth quarter on a long run by Travis Green.  Once again the Bears blocked the Trojnas extra point attempt.

The Bears' Griffin Assance scored and Matteo Pavone converted late in the quarter to make the score 20-14 and grab the momentum.

The Trojans fumbled on their last possession and with the Bears threatening, Tyler Karpenko picked off a pass in the end zone to end then game as the clock expired! The Trojans had three touchdowns called back due to penalties in the game.
