The North Bay Bantam B ICE BOLTZ took part in the Etobicoke Pink The Rink tournament over the weekend.
In the first game of the round robin the BOLTZ beat a tough Stratford team 3-1. Game 2 victory came against Mississauga 6-2. In the final game the round robin a hot goalie from Leaside couldn't hold off the girls as the BOLTZ skated away with a well deserved 1-0 win.
In the quarter finals the ICE BOLTZ played Markham. The girls came out hungry for a trip to the semis, they scored early and never looked back winning the game 5-0. Their semi final was a northern match up as the BOLTZ played their revivals the Sudbury Lady Wolves.
In a tight checking game the ICE BOLTZ came out on top with 3-1 win and a trip to the finals.
The Championship game found the girls up against a very strong South Point team.
The BOLTZ carried most of the play in the first period but a late power play goal by South Point had the BOLTZ down 1-0 at the end of the first. The girls continued to work hard but could not find the back of the net against a very good defensive team, losing in the final 2-0.
