Novice AA Trappers snare another tournament victory

SUDBURY, ON - Tyler Moore scored twice and Nate Gravelle netted the game winner as the North Bay West Ferris Novice AA Trappers edged the Nickel City Jr.

SUDBURY, ON - Tyler Moore scored twice and Nate Gravelle netted the game winner as the North Bay West Ferris Novice AA Trappers edged the Nickel City Jr. Sons 3-2 in the final of the 28th Annual Sudbury 80's Something Tournament Sunday morning at the Countryside arena. 

Tyler Moore was named the Trappers game MVP.

The Trappers marched to 3 straight wins in the round robin portion of the tournament but faced a setback at the hands of the Nickel City Jr. Sons, falling 5-2 on Saturday night.  Johnny Couch Jr. was named the Trappers game MVP in the loss. 

That set up the re-match on Sunday morning which the Trappers came out on top when it counted the most. 

On Friday morning the Trappers opened with a 5-0 win over the Copper Cliff Redmen. 

Noah Dugas was named the Trappers' MVP and Connor Filiatrault and Jackson Curran shared the goaltending duties in the shutout. 

On Friday night the Trappers continued their winning ways by defeating Ontario Concrete from Sault Ste. Marie 4-1.  McCrea Cazabon was named Trappers game MVP in the win. 

Saturday morning the Trappers then humbled the Sudbury Wolves 16-0.  Noah St. Jean was named the Trappers game MVP.   Curran and Filiatrault shared in the shutout. 

This is the Novice AA Trappers' second straight tournament title after finishing on top on October 8th at the South Porcupine Ice Breakers Tournament that took place in the Timmins area.  

Team members include: McCrea Cazabon, Tyler Moore, Masen Wray, Nate Gravelle, Patrick Young, Marshall McCharles, John Couch Jr., Caleb Perron, Caleb Dawson, Davis Anello, Noah Dugas, Beau Herron, Noah St. Jean and goaltenders Connor Filiatrault and Jackson Curran.  Coaching staff includes head coach Jay Moore and assistants Dan Young, John Couch, Manager Jen McCharles and Trainer Marco Perron.
