The Temiscaming Titans (11-1-1) swept their weekend games in completely opposite ways.  First on Friday, the hosted the Parry Sound Islanders (5-6-2) and came away with a come from behind win of 6-3.

Then on Sunday afternoon in Seguin they hung on for a 5-4 victory.  In Friday’s game, trailing 1-0 and 3-1 heading in the third period, the Titans scored twice in 27 seconds to tie the game and from that point on it was all Titans.

Ryder Murray and Daniel Britts were the scorers.

About 6 minutes later, the 4-3 lead was taken on a goal by Jake Ryan.  This was followed by a real nice goal from Daniel Britts who behind the goal line and still managed to slide the puck into the net.

With over 3 minutes to play the Islanders pulled their goalie for an extra attacker but Marc-Antoine put one in to close out the scoring at 6-3.  Nicolas Jasmin had scored the Titans first goal on a power play.

On Sunday afternoon in Seguin, the Titans handed the Huskies a 5-4 defeat; the Huskies first real loss of the season.  The only blemish on their record was a default loss to the Lumberjacks. The last time these two teams met, the outcome was settled by a shootout with the Huskies being the winners.  The Titans led after the first period 2-0 on goals by Arseneault and Andreas Nordkvist.  Their lead was increased to 3-0 on Arsenault’s second.

The Titans went to the second period intermission with a not too comfortable 3-0 lead. Shots in the second were 21-7 Seguin.  This time, the third period comeback was made by the Huskies as they clawed their way to a three all tie.  Jake Ryan gave the Titans a 4-3 lead.  This was the difference until about 6 minutes to play, when the Huskies tied it again now at four goals each.  But Marc-Antoine Arsenault with his third of the game lifted the Titans to a 5-4 lead.

Seguin totally dominated the last 20 minutes outshooting the Titans 33-4.  But Craig Wood was really on his game as he stopped 62 of the 66 shots he faced.
