The Algonquin junior football team got their first win of the season Thursday afternoon against Widdifield by a score of 15-12.
Joel Leblanc had a rushing and receiving touchdown to lead the Barons attack.
Leblanc also kicked one extra point.
Barons Quarterback Nichola Hebert-Meloche threw for one touchdown while Brad Piché scored on a safety to close out the scoring.
The Barons defense was led Yan Tremblay-Levesque, Ben Cantin and Yannic Castonguay.
Wildcats touchdowns were scored by Zach Pariseau and Humza Khan.
The two teams play each other again next Friday at Widdifield. Game time is set for 3:30 p.m.
