Voodoos soar past Beavers for first road win

Aaron Dart, Dante Juris, Aaron Sullivan, Kyle Moore, Tyler Gervais-Rolfe, Michael Silveri and Brett Lepisto rounded out the scoring for the Voodoos. 

The Voodoos got things going early grabbing 2 goals within the first 3 minutes of play on goals by Dart and Juris.  McLeod netted the first of 5 power play goals on the night for the Voodoos at 12:36 of the first.  

With the score 3-0 after 20, McLeod netted his second power play marker at 3:15 of the second.  Beavers forward Chris Zajac ruined Ben Auger's shutout bid as he converted on a Beavers 2 on 1 to make it 4-1.  

Sullivan and Harland replied with goals less than 2 minutes apart to make it 6-1 Voodoos.  

Dallas Miller got the Beavers back within 4, but Kyle Moore netted the Voodoos third power play marker at 13:11 as the Voodoos took a 7-2 lead into the dressing room after 40 minutes. 

Rolfe and Lepisto put home 2 more power play markers in the third period and Silveri finished off the scoring at 11:26 of the final frame.    

After struggling with no power play goals in their first 2 games on the road, the Voodoos finished 5 for 11 with the extra man on this night.  

The win improves the Voodoos record to 2-3-0-1 on the season.  

The Voodoos close out a busy weekend with a Sunday night visit to Elliot Lake where they take on Nathan Hewitt and the expansion Wildcats.  Puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m. in Elliot Lake.
