The Savignac North Bay & District Trappers Peewee AAA team went to the final on the weekend at the Ottawa Senator's AAA September Shootout.
After dropping their opening game to the Eastern Ontario Wild, the boys reeled off 3 wins against Huron Perth Lakers, Ajax Pickering Raiders, and the Ottawa Valley Titans to advance to the semi-final.
Playing hard from the opening faceoff, the Trappers beat the very tough North Central Predators, setting up the final versus Toronto powerhouse York Simcoe Express, who defeated the Trappers 7-1 in the Peewee final.
It was a good showing for the first tournament of the year for the North Bay & District squad.
Team members include: Brody Belanger, Cole Goode, Cailen Hanzlik, Joe Jordan, Jesse Kirkby, Eric Lafontaine, Nicholas Lalonde, Nat Lalonde, Cameron Lemcke, Ethan Martineau, Ethan Masson, Steph Philion, Reece Proulx, Pacey Schlueting and Jack Stockfish. Coaching staff: Mike Stockfish, Sheldon Masson, Jeff Mancini, Jeff Jordan, Andre Guenette and Carole Guenette.
