POWASSAN, ON - Michael Silveri returned from Sudbury Wolves camp and immediately made an impact.

The North Bay product netted two goals including a world class shot that went "bar down" on Beavers netminder Erik MIlls as the Powassan Voodoos blasted the Blind River Beavers 7-1 at the Powassan Sportsplex in pre-season NOJHL action on Sunday night.

The Voodoos jumped out to a 3-0 lead after one period getting power play markers from Nathanial McLeod and Silveri along with an even strength effort courtesy of Brett Lepisto.

Powassan extended their cushion with the lone tally of the middle session as Andrew Demarco made it 4-0 at 16:04.

After Jeremy St. Pierre and Hunter May put the Voodoos up six in the final period, Blind River put an end to former Midget AAA Trappers goalie Ben Auger’s shutout bid thanks to Chris Corgan at 5:08 who supplied the Beavers’ lone goal of the evening.

Silveri then wrapped up the scoring with a shorthanded effort at 11:16.

Auger finished with 19 saves to pick up the win in net for Powassan.

Nick Kazmierczak made 24 stops in a losing cause for Blind River with Zach Mills making 14 in relief.

Sunday's contest, which was delayed by an hour due to fog in the arena, was the final pre-season game for the Voodoos (1-2) who pack up and start their first regular season in the NOJHL this Friday when they travel to Cochrane to take on the Crunch.
