POWASSAN, ON - Jacob Erwin and Cody Gratton scored twice to lead the Cochrane Crunch to a convincing 9-1 victory over the Powassan Voodoos in pre-season NOJHL action at the Powassan Sportsplex.

The Crunch extended its lead scoring 5 times in the second period.  Voodoos forward Brett Lepisto notched the first goal in franchise history at 11:46 of the second period as he drifted a shot past Crunch starter Matt Young after a nice feed by Nathan McLeod.

The Crunch, who improve now to 3-0 in the pre-season, rounded out the scoring with 3 more goals in the final period.

Ben Auger and Jerry Scarangella shared the goaltending duties, with Auger allowing 4 goals in the opening half of the game and Scarangella letting 5 more get past him in the second half of the game.

The Voodoos will try to bounce back on Saturday night when they travel to New Liskeard to face the Crunch once again.  Game time is 7:30 p.m. at the Don Shepherdson Memorial Arena.
