Former North Bay Y Titans swimmer Dominique Bouchard swam a personal best 1:00:82 good enough for 5th place finish in the 100 M backstroke event at the Pan Pacific Swimming Championships taking place at the Gold Coast Aquatic Centre in Gold Coast, Australia.

Bouchard, swimming for Canada's National Team at the event, finished just ahead of teammate and Canadian Olympian Hilary Caldwell.

Bouchard, who swam for the University of Missouri and now swims for the Oakville Swim Club, grabbed 3 podium finishes at the Canadian Swimming Championships in Saskatoon back in July.

Bouchard's next event is the 200 M backstroke which she will swim on Saturday, August 23rd.

Bouchard hopes this is another positive showing at an international event, as she attempts to make Canada's Olympic team for the 2016 Summer Games set for Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.
