The North Bay Midget AAA Trappers opened up their summer tryouts on Monday night.

"We had a good turnout Monday night, which was great, we still have a few guys out at junior camps," said head coach Mike Reise.

"We will have to see how that all plays out. We had quite a few guys graduate this year, as in the recent signings by the Voodoo’s.  We will be looking to replace the scoring touch that we had last year, but I think we got some guys in camp that can take over that role,"

Tryouts are open and are taking place at Pete Palangio arena.  Interested players will need a release from their home association.

Tryouts take place at the following times this week:

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 7:15 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. at Pete Palangio arena.  The Trappers will travel to New Liskeard on Friday to take on the Cubs in their first exhibition contest of the season.

Next week they are back on the ice August, 25th (7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.), August 26th (7:45 p.m. to 9:15 p.m.) then play an exhibition contest Wednesday night against the New Liskeard Cubs for an 8:00 p.m. puck drop.  They wrap up the camp with another practice on Thursday, August 28th from 7:15 to 8:30 p.m.  All games and practices in the final week of camp take place at Pete Palangio arena.

The Trappers season opener will face-off on Saturday, September 6th when they hosts the Kapuskasing Flyers.  Puck drop is 7:20 p.m. at West Ferris.
