The Powassan Voodoos have signed another one of the top players from the Great North Midget League.

The Voodoos have added forward Michael Silveri, the club announced Thursday afternoon.

Silveri finished 3rd in GNML scoring with 15 goals along with 30 assists totalling 45 points in 30 games with the Midget AAA Trappers in 2013-14.

Silveri is a 2013 6th round draft pick of the Sudbury Wolves and played a handful of NOJHL games last season as an affiliate with the North Bay Jr. Trapppers who relocated to Mattawa in the off-season.

“We know that Michael’s aim is to crack the OHL Wolves lineup, but we are committing to him if that doesn’t happen.  Michael is a talented forward who we expect would be able to fit in our top 6 along with his former Trappers line mate Nathan McLeod,” said GM/VP of Hockey Operations Chris Dawson.

Silveri is glad to have the Voodoos option.

"My goal is to make the Wolves but of that doesn't work out its good to have a solid backup plan with the Voodoos," said Silveri.

"I'm comfortable with some of the signings already with the Voodoos which would make it an easy transition‎."

The Voodoos have now signed 3 players from the Midget AAA Trappers.  They hope to add to that total this weekend as the NOJHL expansion team is holding a Free Agent Camp at Pete Palangio.
