Under-17 Vision Girls Reach Goal at Ontario Volleyball Championships

The Vision Volleyball Club’s 17U Girls’ Team finished their O.V.A. tournament and championship schedule last weekend at the Ontario Volleyball Championships held at RIM Park in Waterloo.

The Vision Volleyball Club’s  17U Girls’ Team finished their  O.V.A. tournament and championship schedule last weekend at the Ontario Volleyball Championships held at RIM Park in Waterloo.

Initially seeded 11th in the OVA’s Power Rankings of 68 teams, the team matched their 5th place of last year losing to the Maverick Gold Rush from Ottawa in straight sets in the quarter finals.

The Mavericks, the 3rd seed went on to capture the bronze medal in Tier 1.

On the first day of competition the Vision Team finished ranked third in the province after winning two of their first three matches defeating Defensa [Burlington] and the Etobicoke Titans [Etobicoke] in straight sets and losing to the same Ottawa Maverick Gold Rush.

On Saturday’s RePool, the Vision Team split their first two matches defeating E381 [Etobicoke] and losing to DRVC [Whitby] then matched Forest City Green [London] point for point losing a tough match 23–25 and 21–25 to qualify for the quarter finals. .

The London team then went on to capture the gold medal in Tier 1 at the Championships.

Team members included Annagh Macie, Kristen Zamperoni, Kate Bowness, Danyka Wall, Julia Allard, Courtney Pappano, Alex Stockfish, and Kristen Moore. The team was coached by Karen Morris, Len Pappano and John Jeffries.
