The North Bay Battalion can wrap up the best-of-seven series with a win in Barrie on Sunday night.

Despite falling behind 1-0 in game 5, the Battalion persevered and rattled off 4 straight goals en route to a 4-1 win to take a 3-2 series lead.

The Battalion will get get a chance to redeem themselves in Barrie after giving up a 3-goal second period lead in Thursday's 7-4 game 4 setback in Barrie.

The Colts capitalized on 4 of 12 power plays on Thursday so the Troops will need to play a more disciplined game, but not sit back and play a passive style which cost them in the Barrie 2-1 win on Tuesday.

The Battalion come into the game with a 1-0 record in elimination games, as they finished the impressive 3-1 series deficit with a tight 2-1 win in game 7 against the Niagara Ice Dogs in the OHL Eastern Conference quarterfinals.

The Colts will have to figure out their goaltending concerns in a hurry Sunday night as both MacKenzie Blackwood and Daniel Gibl have struggled between the pipes in the last two games.  Blackwood was pulled in game 4 after allowing 4 goals on 7 shots, while Gibl allowed 3 questionable goals in the 3rd period on Friday night.

Gens Waiting

Meantime, the Oshawa Generals are hoping for this series to go to 7 games.  They disposed of the Peterborough Petes in 4 straight by finishing off the Petes 5-2 on the road Thursday night.

The top seed in the East will be well rested for the start of the Eastern Conference final which is expected to start mid week in Oshawa.
