Thunderbirds make their mark at NEOR 4

CFB North Bay Thunderbirds swim club members delivered their best performances at the North Eastern Ontario Region (NEOR #4) developmental swim meet hosted by the Laurentian Swim Club this past weekend. 

The event was held at the Jeno Tihanyi Olympic Gold Pool located on the campus of Laurentian University.

This was the first long course event of the season and draws competitive swimmers from clubs across the North East.

Leading the team in the pool were Jane Chirico, Elle Louise George, and Ryan Venditti.  All three competitors clinched a gold, and a silver at the event, in addition Venditti broke a club record in the 50 Breaststroke event with a time of 37:48. 

Travis Allured, Trael Daly Stevens, Samuel Denomme, Reagan Lawton, Jenna Manning, Rachelle Ouellette, and Noah Papatheodorou had very strong results achieving top three finishes, while Rhianna Bovair, Jasmine Busschaert, Michael Denomme, Lindsay Greig, Jesse Hammond, William Hotson, Ben Macneil, Kaylie Macneil, Alex Papatheodorou, Cole Paralovos, Hailey Passmore, and Jillian Picco achieved top 8 positions.

Personal best times were achieved by swimmers Sarah Allured, Cauri Ash, Ashleigh Brady, Leah Chirico, Clarice DeBernardi, Kylie Manning, Jaiden Paralovos, Peyton Paralovos, Riley Periard, Madeline Tanner, and Olivia Trottier.

Coaches Pierre Simard, Penny Lecour, Ray Picco, Brett MacNeil, and Amy Jackson were pleased with the results during the meet and the success of the swimmers.

Congratulations to all of the CT-33 swimmers, every Thunderbird achieved personal best times at the event.
