OTTAWA, ON - The North Bay and District Moose's Cookhouse Peewee AAA Trappers finished their final day of round robin play with a tie and a loss at the OHF All-Ontario Peewee AAA Championships.

On Thursday morning, the Trappers finished in a close 1-1 tie against the Toronto Marlboros.

Payton Vescio scored a late power play marker with less than 2 minutes left in regulation to salvage the tie.  Cole Craft and Hunter Foreshew were credited with the assists.

The Trappers then suffered their worst loss of the tournament on Thursday afternoon, as the London Jr. Knights scored 5 times in the first period on the way to a 9-0 win over the Trappers.

That means the Trappers move on to the semi-finals to face the London Jr. Knights. Puck drop is 9 am on Friday morning.

Meantime, the tournament Awards Banquet took place on Thursday night.  Trappers goaltender Zach Roy was named the tournaments top goaltender, while Payton Vescio was voted Top Defenceman and Tournament MVP.
