Thomas and Loranger Triple Winners in Track and Field Meet

Here are the results from the French Catholic School Board’s Elementary Track and Field Meet held at Franco-Cité in Sturgeon Falls on June 25th.

Grade 6 Girls

Jazlyn Thomas (St-Vincent) was a triple winner claiming gold in the 100m, 200m and Long Jump. Catherine Héroux (Sts-Anges) was first in the 800m and 400m. Gabrielle Rainville (Ste-Marguerite) won the Standing Long Jump and Reanna Martin (Sts-Anges) the Shot Put. Thomas was also named top athlete in her division.

Grade 5 Girls

Roxanne Rochon (Sts-Anges) won gold in both the Long Jump and Shot Put. Ellie Horning (St-Thomas) won the 800m, Amélie Danis (Ste-Marguerite) the 400m, Brianne Gagnon (Ste-Marguerite) the 200m and Pascale Leblanc (Résurrection) the 100m. Lindsay Lebeau (St-Joseph) won the Standing Long Jump. Roxanne Rochon won top honors for her division.

Grade 6 Boys

This age group was dominated by Saints-Anges students who brought home first place finishes in all seven events. Lyric Loranger was the big winner claiming first in the 400m, 200m and 100m as well top athlete for his division. Zachary Roy followed suit winning the Standing Long Jump and Long Jump. Caleb Ranger won the 800m and Cody Stevens and Philip Fortin (Résurrection) tied for first place in the Shot Put.

Grade 5 Boys

St-Joseph had a very strong showing claiming six of the seven events. Nathaniel Lalonde was a first place finisher in the 800m and 400m. Logan Lavoie was first in the 100m and Long Jump. Stéphane Phillion won the 200m and teammate Johnny Bourque the Standing Long Jump. Caleb Plante (St-Thomas) won the Shot Put. Lalonde and Lavoie shared the top athlete award for their division.
The final event of the day, the 4 x 200m mixed relay, was won by Saints-Anges.
