Temiscaming Titans close out 2012 on a winning note

The Temiscaming Titans (23-3-0-1) closed out 2012 by winning their last 12 games including three games played this week. The weekend action places them in first place in the GMHL ahead of the undefeated Bradford Rattlers, who have four games in hand before the end of the first half of the season.

The Titans started thing rolling with a road win on Wednesday night against the Bradford Bulls by the score of 8-6. Justin Norris had 5 points with 2 goals and three assists. Brandon Case chipped in with 2 goals and 2 assists, while singles went to Ryder Murray, Marc-Alain Begin, Francis Beauregard and Maximilian Deichstetter. Nicolas Fournier had 4 assists. Aaron Boyce earned the victory in goal for the Titans.

This was then followed with a Friday night battle with the third place Bracebridge Phantoms at the Centre in Temiscaming, which the Titans won 6-4. The star of the game was Richard Abbott who scored the winning goal with only a little over a minute to play in the game. He also added two helpers. Dustin Roy had two, including an empty netter, while Ryan Adams, Marc-Alain Begin and Chris Levesque rounded out the scoring.

Jonathan Goulet got the win and he also chipped in with an assist on the empty netter. The Titans outshot their opponents 56-40.

Phantoms' goals came from Lester Brown, Mickal Spacek, Alex Boswell & Joey Verreijen.

Saturday evening in Powassan, the Titans were facing off against the Eagles and came back home with an impressive 10-4 victory. The BBK line was at it again with a total 14 points. Byron Katapaytuk had 2 goals and 2 assists, Francis Bearegard had 2 goals and three assists while Marc-Alain Begin had 1 goal and 4 helpers.

Other goal scorers for the Titans were Elliot Willetts and Richard Abbott each with a pair and Justin Norris with a single keeping him atop the scoring race with 40 goals and 33 assists. Aaron Boyce earned his 11th victory of the season.
