T-Birds Soar at Swim Meets

Wednesday, December 05, 2012   by: Chris DawsonOver the past week the CT-33 Thunderbirds competed at two separate swim meets posting impressive individual and team results.

On November 24 and 25 the T-Birds competed in the NEOR Developmental Meet #2 in North Bay at the YMCA Aquatic Centre.

Leading the Boy’s side of the team were Ryan Venditti and Alex Papatheodorou. Ryan dominating the 11-12 year old competition with an impressive five first place finishes and a second place in his six events. Alex also had a strong showing in the 13-14 year old division accumulating two firsts, two seconds and two thirds in his six events.

The girl’s side was led by Jillian Picco and Kylie Manning. Jillian captured two seconds and four thirds in six events in the 11-12 year old division. Kylie posted a first place and three thirds in the 10 and under category.

Seven other T-Bird swimmers had first place finishes: Jamiee Reynolds, Michael Denomme, Elle Louise George, Jane Chirico, Jenna Manning, Trael Daly Stevens, and Travis Allured. The remainder of the team all posted personal bests.

A week later on December 2nd at the Top Fish Meet in Elliot Lake Thunderbird Olivia Trottier represented the team well. Olivia posted five personal bests and garnered three first place finishes, one third place and one forth place finish.

Congratulations to all of the Thunderbirds for great performances at these meets. Keep an eye out for results from the T-Birds next meet, Team III Championships in Etobicoke, December 14 - 16. Keep up the good work T-Birds.
