Lakers get Biggers

The Nipissing Lakers hockey team is pleased to announce that Brandon Biggers has committed to attending Nipissing University this September.
The Nipissing Lakers hockey team is pleased to announce that Brandon Biggers has committed to attending Nipissing University this September.

Biggers, a 6’1”, 191-pound forward from Sarnia, Ontario, played four seasons in the OHL with the Guelph Storm, Sault Ste Marie Greyhounds and Erie Otters. 

He played six games in the American Hockey League with the Lake Erie Monsters in 2008. 

Most recently, Biggers played three years with the University of Prince Edward Island Panthers. 

Statistically, Biggers enjoyed his best season with the Erie Otters in 2008-09, recording 25 goals and 37 assists for 62 points in 68 games.

Biggers is enrolled in Nipisisng’s renowned Schulich School of Education.

"I'm delighted to have the green light to join the Lakers this season and feel fortunate to be able to attend one of the best education programs in the country,” said Biggers.  “The Lakers are poised to compete for one of the top spots in their division and I’m excited to be able to help the team achieve their goals.”

Head coach Mike McParland believes his club will benefit from Biggers experience.  

“His skill and his maturity are welcome additions to the Lakers hockey program as we continue to evolve," he said.
