Congratulations to the North Bay Selects U13B – “North Bay Vipers” on their Silver Medal win at the Sudbury Impact Soccer Tournament.

The North Bay Vipers battled back from a disappointing 2-1 loss to the Greater Sudbury B98/99 team in game 1 of a 4 game round robin.

In game 2, the North Bay Vipers clinched a decisive 4-0 win against the Greater Sudbury Blaze while in game 3 vs. the Sault Civics, the two teams battled to a 2-2 tie with the North Bay Vipers giving up the tying goal with only 10 seconds left in the match.

The 4th and final game in the round robin saw the North Bay Vipers defeat the Sudburnia All-Stars with a score of 2-1 thereby clinching a spot in the gold medal final vs. the Sault Civics.

In the gold medal game, the North Bay Vipers opened up the scoring with a goal against the Sault Civics and from there on it was goal for goal as the Sault Civics and the North Bay Vipers battled to a 2-2 tie in regulation.

Neither team was going to give up a goal as the game was extended into 2 ten minute overtime periods.

The grudge match was settled by way of a shootout with the Sault Civics clinching the win with a 5-4 victory over the North Bay Vipers.

The Coaching Staff and parents are extremely proud of the players accomplishments taking into consideration that the boys played up in the older U14 Division and hadn’t any substitute players for the entire 5 game tournament.
