Titans compete at Team Championships

A selected group of thirty swimmers from the North Bay Y Titans swim team travelled to Brantford, Ontario to compete in the annual provincial Team Championships Division II swim meet this past weekend.


A selected group of thirty swimmers from the North Bay Y Titans swim team travelled to Brantford, Ontario to compete in the annual provincial Team Championships Division II swim meet this past weekend.

At the end of the three-day event, the Titans accumulated enough points to land a 13th place finish. With this placing the Titans will remain in Division II for the same meet next season. The meet consisted of 21 teams from across the province.

High point getters for the Titans were Jaydan Jackson (35), Brittany Pask (26), Sierra McCourt (25), Zeyana Laplante (15), Noah Swain (14), Renee Gagnon (13), and Dylan Jackson (11).

Those swimmers also chipping in with points for the team were Keltan Baran, Katie Tripp, Chris Uys, Kayley Niemela, Steve Cholette, Grace Liritzis, Connor Montgomery and Jamie Lee Udeschini.

Many of the Titans swimmers achieved personal best times during the meet.

Those going best times were Hailey Passmore, Leah Dawson, Shiela MacDougall, Sofia Berardi, Bernard Uys, Tessa Steel, Talia Preston, Abbey Krajc, Caitlyn Jones, Kristen Gough, Olivia Gagnon, Jacob Brost and Anisha Bhattacharyya.

With just three weeks off from competition, the Titans will next see action May 11-13th at the East Side Mario's Invitational meet held in Sudbury.

The Titans will also be hosting the Fred Ram B Championships at the end of May at the YMCA.

This meet gathers swimmers age 14 and under from all across the North Eastern Ontario Region.
