Clarification on NOJHL decision (new)

Citing a number of concerns over areas such as "business plan, recruitement of players, billeting, availability of arena, competitiveness of team", the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League Board of Directors stated that an "attempt to purchase the Sudbury Northern Wolves and re-locate to Sturgeon Falls was refused."

Commissioner Art Yeo also confirmed that the decision not to accept the purchase of the team to Gerry St Onge of Sturgeon Falls was put to a vote of the remaining seven teams.

Yeo noted that While North Bay Skyhawks director Guy Blanchard had the ability to effectively vetoe the proposed sale and move due to the league's territorial restrictions, Blanchard chose not to exercise this option. It was thought the Skyhawk director had vetoed the deal.
