Rioux, Andre

Passed away at the North Bay Regional Health Centre, with his family by his side, on Sunday May 24, 2015 at the age of 76 yrs. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 42 yrs Jeannine. Loving father of Jocelynne (Gerard Bernier) of Chapleau and Gerald of Toronto.  He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Brandon & Andrea.  Also survived by a brother Edmond Rioux (Freda) of Tilsonburg and brother-in-law Leonard Belanger (Jeanne D’Arc) of North Bay as well as many nieces and nephews.  Also predeceased by his brothers Rene and Paul Rioux. Born in Chapleau in 1939, Andre worked as a locomotive engineer for C.P. Rail for well over 35 yrs. A devout Montreal Canadiens fan, he will always be remembered for his love of hockey and golf. Andre was a volunteer for many years with Heritage Railway Carousel and at the Soup Kitchen.  He will be sadly missed. Family receiving friends at HILLSIDE FUNERAL SERVICES, 362 Airport Rd, for a memorial visitation on Thursday May 28th from 7 until 9 pm.  The funeral mass will held on Friday May 29th at St Peter the Apostle Church at 10 am. Donations in memory of Andre to the Kidney Foundation  or the Sacred Heart Parish in Chapleau (cheque only) will be gratefully acknowledged by his family.
