Lafontaine, Irene (nee Desjardins)

Peacefully passed away at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on May 9, 2015 at the age of 87 years. Predeceased by her husband Patrick Lafontaine and long-time companion Hector Ledoux. Beloved mother of Richard (Carol), Ronald (Julie), Michel (Carmen), Marc and Gilles (Laurie). Dearly loved grandma of Cary (Dana), Marsha (Tim), Lisa (Jeff), Justin, Constance, Chantelle, Nicole, Tamara, Natalie and great- grandma of Brendan, Hayley, Logan and Jordyn, Alex, Dean, Elliana, Jeremy and Jovie. Dear sister of Lucille Frick (Akos). Irene will be sadly missed by Hector’s children; Theresa Scrannage (Bill), Monica Day (Denny), Susan Fargan (Dane), Andrew Ledoux (Rennie), their families, Irene’s many nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. Predeceased by her parents; Harvey and Florence (nee Truchon), sisters; Florence Desjardins, Jeannette Mantha (Rhéan) and her brother; Harvey Desjardins (Fran-surviving). Family will receive visitors at the McGuinty Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter the Apostle Church on Wednesday at 11 am. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Donations to the North Bay Serenity Hospice Foundation would be gratefully appreciated by her family.
