Gravelle, Ronald

Ronald Gravelle, age 77, died peacefully in North Bay on Sunday, April 19 surrounded by his family after his courageous battle with cancer. Ron was born April 28th, 1937 in Corbeil, to George and Rosa Gravelle (nee Voyer). Ron was owner of Gravelle’s Insurance Adjusters and co-owner of Gravelle Meat Market along with his brothers Aime, Reg, and sister Gisele Vrebosch. Beloved spouse of Priscille, (nee Gauthier), they raised three boys, Denis (Karima) from Thornhill, Gilles (Laurie) and Claude in North Bay. Cherished grandfather to Ryan, Joseph, Jacob, Amina Inaara, Ashley, Kayley, Christopher, Darren and Nathan and great grandfather to Kaycee, Owen, Madison, Grayson. Also survived by his siblings Eddie (Geraldine), Jean-Paul (Micheline – predeceased) (friend Diane), Gisele Vrebosch (Bill), Colette Mantha (Marc) and Monique Guillemette (Adelard) He will be fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews.  Ron is preceded in death by his parents, George and Rosa Gravelle; as well as his brothers Antonio (Alice surviving), Aime (Vicky surviving), and Reg (Noëlla surviving), and much loved daughters-in-law Sandi (1994) and Selma (2009).Ron was a gentle giant who touched others in a kind, unselfish way. His spirit will live forever in our hearts. Ron was a long time member and former president of the Club Richelieu de North Bay. Family receiving friends at HILLSIDE FUNERAL SERVICES, 362 Airport Rd, on Wednesday April 22 from 2 until 4 and 7 until 9. A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday April 23rd at 11:00am at the funeral home.
