North Bay - April 02, 2015 - It is with great sadness that the sons of Kenneth Ralph Roy of North Bay announce his sudden passing at the North Bay Regional Health Centre  April 2, 2015. Ken was the husband for 30 years of his loving wife Evangeline Roy (Link) who sadly passed away in January 2014. Ken and Eva were deeply in love and were inseparable in all the life they shared. Ken missed Eva very much over the past 15 months and her pictures adorned his room at Cassellholme where he lived and was loved by all the staff for the past nine months. Ken was a long time CPR Engineer and started his career as an engine fireman, shoveling coal into the locomotive fire boxes. Ken married Charlotte Smith (deceased April 12, 2013) in 1952 and was very proud of and survived by his eight sons, Randy (Julie) of Cherryville, B.C., Richard (Janice) of Kelowna, B.C., Rock (Linda) and Robb (Susan) of North Bay, ON,  Russell (Cori) of Hornby Island B.C., Rodger (Kathie) of White Rock AB, Reg (Kayoko) of San Diego CA and Ryan (Shelly) of Prince George B.C., 17 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Ken was a loving, kind and gentle man, he lived his life in peace. His boys called him Pa and he taught them how to build homes and lives. Rest in peace Practical Pa, you have earned it. As per his wishes there will be no visitation. Donations to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation in memory of Kenneth will be gratefully acknowledged by his family.
