Purdon, Mary Jane (nee Roy)

(July 27, 1935 – March 17, 2015) – Passed away suddenly at the North Bay Regional Health Centre in her 80th year. Beloved wife of Des Purdon. They would have celebrated their 60th anniversary in October. Loving mother of Mike of Sudbury, Nancy Francis (Mark) of North Bay, Mona Schulz (Marv) of Thornhill and Carol Larouche (Bob Wood) of North Bay.  She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Matthew Francis (Candace) and Scott Francis (Lisa), Erin Villeneuve (Micah Plourde) and Sean Villeneuve, Jonathan Schulz. Also survived by her sisters Claire Lebrasseur (Earl), Irene McParland (Cliff – deceased) and Aline Brooks (Jack – deceased) as well as many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by 7 siblings. A loving and caring wife, mother and “Granny” she will always be remembered for her great sense of humour, her devotion to her family and living her life according to the Golden Rule. A great cook, she loved to entertain family and friends, and was always there to lend a helping hand.  She worked for many years for the Nipissing-Parry Sound C.D.S.B. Family receiving friends at HILLSIDE FUNERAL SERVICES, 362 Airport Rd, on Friday March 20th from 7 until 9 pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday March 21st at St Peter the Apostle Church, 299 Airport Rd, at 11:00 am.
