HUNT, Jean

Born June 17th, 1929 in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, passed away on March 14, 2015 surrounded by her loving family at her home. She is survived by and is the beloved wife of William F. Hunt. Bill and Jean have lived in North Bay since 1960. Jean is the loving mother of Pamela Jean Lemieux (Basil) of Geraldton, Ontario, William Gregory Hunt (Donna) of St. Charles, Ontario, Keith Francis Hunt (Christine) of Laguna Vista, Texas and Jacqueline Deborah Deering (Bill) of Astorville, Ontario. Lovingly remembered by her 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Jean was predeceased by her mother Eugene and father Sydney Mckee of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario; sisters Isabelle Trumpie of Kingston, Nova Scotia, and Jacqueline Holburn of Toronto, Ontario. She is survived by her sister Blanche Stewart of Tucson, Arizona. Jean grew up and received her education in Sault Ste. Marie and studied Painting and Creative Arts as well enjoyed singing as a Soprano in local opera’s and in church choirs. Jean was a devoted member of Holy Name of Jesus Parish and served on Parish Council as well as President of the Catholic Women’s League; recently receiving the 60 year service pin. Most of all, Jean enjoyed and was extremely devoted to her family, children and grandchildren. She loved hearing the children’s laughter and being surrounded by her grandchildren. She will live on in our hearts and memories and will be sadly missed. Family will be receiving visitors at McGuinty Funeral Home (591 Cassells St., North Bay) on March 17th, from 2-4pm & 7-9pm. In celebration of Jean’s life a Christian Mass is to be held at the Holy Name of Jesus Parish (146 Beth St., North Bay) on March 18th at 10:30am. Interment will be taking place at All Saints Mausoleum at a later date. Special thanks from the Hunt family go to Dr. Ian Cowan, Father Trevor Scarfone and to all the nurses at VON, Care Partners and CCAC for all your care and professionalism.
