(1924 - 2015) - After a short battle with cancer, Albert Leno passed away on February 17, 2015 in North Bay, Ontario. Albert was born on October 31, 1924 in Sullivan Township near Desboro, Ontario to father Gustav Leno and mother Wilhelmina Kristena Leno (nee Schildroth). Albert had a wonderful sense of humour, a strong work ethic and always put his family first.
Albert was in his 91st year and is survived by his beloved wife Marie, daughters, Leigh-Ann Legault (Rolly) of Sturgeon Falls, Jennifer Leno (Scott) of Cobourg, granddaughter Sarah-Marie Gray (Mike) of Sturgeon Falls, step-grandson David Legault of Sturgeon Falls, and his dear brother Alfred (Alf) Leno of Collingwood, Ontario as well as many loved nieces, nephews and cousins. Albert was preceded in death by his son Martin Leno, his parents and sisters Clara (Schwartz), Elsie (Shank), Flossie (infancy) and brothers Charlie, Harry, John and Walter (infancy).
The family would like to thank Dr. Senior, the Community Care Access Centre and all of the wonderful nurses Albert met while on the third floor in C3 at the North Bay Regional Health Centre. They would especially like to send an extremely heart felt thank you to Chaplain Richard Smith who helped them through a very difficult time.
Respecting Albert’s wishes and his request for cremation, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A Celebration of Life will be arranged in the summer near the Collingwood area. In lieu of cards or flowers, donations to the Near North Palliative Care Network or the North Bay Regional Health Centre would be appreciated by Albert’s family.
