Hamilton, Andrew Witney

Posted

Born May 8, 1946.  Surrounded by his loving family, Andrew passed away at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on Tuesday January 13, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer.  Known to his many friends and his family as “Andy”, he was a career employee with the Ontario Northland Transportation Commission as a machinist where he made many friends and made many more wonderful and colourful memories.  His commitment to high quality craftsmanship and hard work was legendary.  Andy will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Nancy, sons Shawn (Mary), Jason (Rachel), and his grandchildren, Gregory, Shannon, Andrew, and Matthew.  Also missed by his older brother Gordon (Linda).  Andy was predeceased by his father Lorne Hamilton, his mother Evelyn Hamilton, and his younger brother, Conrad.  Andy hailed from Temagami and he maintained a life-long spiritual connection to its beautiful lake and people.  He will be laid to rest in Temagami.  Prior to his passing and with his family to the end, Andy was pleased to see Team Canada prevail at the World Junior Championships and happy to see his Boston Bruins continue to do well.  Andy was blessed to be cared for by the kind and dedicated staff at the North Bay Regional Health Centre.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the North Bay Regional Health Centre would be appreciated.  Arrangements entrusted to Basic Cremation Services.  “May the Good Lord shine a light on you”
