Savoie, Roger E.

(1949-2014) – Roger passed away peacefully at his residence on Monday July 7th, 2014 at the age of 64 years. He was the beloved husband of 40 years to Carol-Anne (nee French). Dear father of Tammy-Renée Giroux (Phil) of Pickering and he was affectionately known as poppy to his 2 grandchildren Ethan & Lauren. Roger was the loving son of Améline Savoie and he is survived by his brother Charles Savoie (Denise) of North Bay and his sister Lorraine (Doug Smith) of Mississauga. Predeceased by his father Donat, his son Gary and his best friend Max. He will be fondly remembered by several brothers & sisters-in-law, his mother-in-law Violet French of Newfoundland and many close friends he knew over the years. Family receiving friends at HILLSIDE FUNERAL SERVICES, 362 Airport Rd, on Thursday July 10th from 2 until 4 and 7 until 9 pm. A funeral service will be held on Friday July 11th, 2014 at St Brice’s Anglican Church at 10:30 am. Donations in memory of Roger to Christ Church Anglican Memorial Fund or the Northern Cancer Foundation (Daffodil Terrace Lodge) will be gratefully acknowledged by his family.
