Whitney: Thomas Harold

Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, at the Nipissing Manor Nursing Home on Monday, April 21, 2014, he was in his 89th year. Harold was the beloved husband of Winnifred Whitney (nee Sayers).  Cherished father of Thomas Whitney, Sheila Page (Steve) and Margaret McDiarmid (Darren).  Proud grandfather of Heather Lefebvre (Etienne), James (Michelle) and, Kimberly Whitney, Matthew & Jason Page, Whitney, Madison and Kyle McDiarmid.  Sadly missed by his siblings Georgenia Williams, Kaye Macdonald and was predeceased by parents George & Mabel Whitney and by his brother Don. Harold was a veteran of the Second World War, serving as a Gunner on a Merchant Ship. He worked for many years for the LCBO, retiring as a Store Manager. Besides spending time with his family, Harold loved fishing and camping in the summer and cross-country skiing & curling in the winter.  Family will receive friends at MARTYN FUNERAL HOME on Friday, April 25th from 12noon until the time of the funeral service in the Chapel at 2:00 p.m.  Cremation will take place at Forest Lawn Crematorium following the funeral service.  If desired, donations to North Bay Regional Health Center Foundation would be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.  Online condolences at www.martynfh.com

BOISSONNEAULT, Lucien

Passed away at Cassellholme for the aged on April 20, 2014 at the age of 81. Loving and devoted husband to Mona (nee Duchesne). Beloved father to Denis Duchesne (Pat), Monique Rudiger (Allen) and  Lucette Boissonneault (Bernie Klimmek). Lucien will always be cherished as a loving grandfather to Nathan, Joel, Ashley, Alyson, Miranda, Cassandra and Natasha and his only great- grandchild Chase. Lucien is survived by his brothers Rheo (Lorraine), Claude (Rollande) and his sisters Rheanne (Zoel), Rita (Wayne), Gisele (Jean-Guy), and Claire (Serge). Predeceased by his father Meride Bossonneault, his mother Emillianne (nee Guillemette), his brothers Rene, Gerald, Victor, Charles-Leo, and his sisters Lucille and Pauline. Lucien loved the outdoors and was a long time member of the trappers association. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the McGuinty Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors at Ste- Bernadette’s Parish Hall in Bonfield on Wednesday April 23rd from 2 to 4pm and 7-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated  at Paroisse Ste-Bernadette on Thursday at 11 am. Spring interment Grand Desert Cemetery. ROGERSON Roy Leonard

The Rogerson family sadly announces Roy’s death at the North Bay Regional Health Centre.  Roy died unexpectedly after a short illness on Friday April 18, 2014 at the age of 86.  For the past 65 years he has been the devoted and loving husband of Milly (nee Kotschenreuter).  The proud and loving father of Gerry of Sudbury, Mark (Marty) of Callander and Jeff (Linda) of North Bay, he will also be sadly missed by his grandchildren Daniel (Cassie), Meghan (Matthew), Nathan (Heather), Alexandra and Mitchell and his great grand children Connor and Ethan. Predeceased by his parents Archie Rogerson and Eileen Smith (Haigh), Roy is also survived by his sisters Maxine Driver, Pauline Whittaker, Adrienne Newton (Ron), and Joyce Gennoe (Bud), and his brothers Albert Smith (Thersa) and Loyde Rogerson (Louanne).  He was predeceased three weeks ago by his sister Amy Gattie.  Family was the most important thing to Roy and he loved his immensely.  He farmed most of his life in the Callander area. He enjoyed being with his horses and machinery.     Talented with his hands Roy could manufacture or repair almost anything.  Always looking for a new project he would often replicate things after studying them and making a few notes.  Friends may call at Martyn Funeral Home on Monday from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9pm.  Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held in Emmanuel United Church at 11:00am on Tuesday April 22, 2014. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery. Duchesneau-Ferris, The Honorable Justice Louisette

Her Honour passed away peacefully at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on Thursday April 16th, 2014 at the age of 67 years, after a short battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife and soul mate to Graeme Ferris. Also survived by her step-sister Coulombe (Connie) Hart. Predeceased by her parents Jean-Louis and Maria Duchesneau. Passed away peacefully at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on Thursday April 17th, 2014 at the age of 64 yrs. Beloved wife of Henri.  Dear mother of Lise (Andrew) and Gilles (Peggy). She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Natasha, Katrena & Brock. She was the loving daughter of Louise and Emmanuel (deceased) St Jean. Also survived by her siblings Lionel St Jean, Diane Rakebrandt (Gary), Don St Jean (Tammy) as well as her mother-in-law Mathilde Ledoux and many brothers & sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.  The family will receive friends at HILLSIDE FUNERAL SERVICES, 362 Airport Rd, on Monday April 21st, 2014 from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St Thomas d’Aquin Church in Astorville onTuesday April 22, 2014 at 10:30 am. ALLARD, Humphrey

Humphrey passed away peacefully on the day of his 86th birthday, surrounded by his family, on April 15, 2014. Beloved husband of  the late Jacqueline (nee Desrosier), loving father to Paulette Mantha (Roger Tremblay) of Sudbury, Denis Allard (Lynda) of North Bay, Suzanne Allard (Marc Mirault) of Sudbury, and Monique MacIntyre ( Dan ) of Sudbury. He will always be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Michelle (Cal), Mary-Katherine (Steve), Chantale (Myron), Franklyn (Marlaina), Shona, William, Alana, Mélanie, Connor and Brennan and his great- grandchildren Magalie and Gabriel, Malik and Max. He will be sadly missed by several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Humphrey was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Josephine (nee Humphrey), brothers; Jerome, Frank, Raymond and his sisters; Rita Mousseau, Marie Gauthier and Theresa MacMillan. Known as being a dedicated family man, he devoted the last 12 years caring at home for the love of his life, Jacqueline, who battled Alzheimer’s. The importance of family, his grandchildren and great-grand children was always evident. Humphrey loved the time he spent camping, being at the cottage, playing cards and he loved to instigate a good debate. Dad was a meticulous craftsman and had the unique distinction of being a 50 year member of The Carpenters Union Local 2486. Family will receive friends at the McGuinty Funeral Home on Monday April 21st from 2 -4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Vincent de Paul on Tuesday at 11 am. Interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Donations to the Canadian Lung Association or Alzheimer’s Society would be gratefully acknowledged. The family would like to thank the nurses of Paramed and, N.E.C.C.A.C. staff, especially Kasey Lajeunesse, and Dr. Andrew Spencer for their patience, care and compassion.
