The 2015 Special Olympics Ontario games may seem a far way off but the local organizing committee knows they have a ton of work ahead of them and before they know it the event will be taking place.

The committee has taken the necessary first major steps like forming the executive committee and on Thursday the unveiling of the games’ logo.

Special Olympians and committee members were on hand at Widdifield Secondary School Thursday, as senior student Cooper Chirico unveiled his winning art.

The 2015 Ontario Special Olympic Winter Games will be held in North Bay from January 29th to February 1st, 2015.

The sporting event will feature six events: Alpine skiing, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, figure skating, speed skating and curling.
